Allow me to introduce myself...I'm Nutri-girl! I'm a "mature" girl, a woman actually, but a girl at heart. I have always been interested in Holistic Living. I come from a Mexican family that can cure whatever ails you with some kind of plant, and maybe a chant thrown in for good measure. I have Celiac disease, which is gluten intolerance...It is not a Mexican thing. It seems to be more prevalent amongst people of European descent. My daughter has had it since birth,(she's half English) thus throwing me into the unknown, she was diagnosed 16 years ago. Naturally, I thought she'd gotten this "disease" from her dad's English side...it couldn't have come from moi. Well, I was diagnosed several years later, maybe it is a Mexican thing. Gluten Free food items weren't as easily available 16 years ago, as they are now. I was a very young mother that had to learn to bake bread that was edible. Baking accidents made great paper weights. My gluten free Betty Crocker cooking days led me toward a lifelong path of health and wellness.
I have tried and succeeded/failed/succeeded at many different diets. I have been Raw, Vegan, Atkins and everywhere in between. I gave all of that up. I no longer stress about food, I just eat well. Now I am a Holistic Health Counselor. I conduct workshops for corporations, schools and parent groups on a variety of Health topics, including Celiac disease. My goal is to help others along the path of heath and wellness naturally, safely and without dieting. I work with men and women, but with a specific interest in Nutrition for Fertility, Pregnancy, and how to safely return to Pre-pregnancy weight. I am also a Reiki Practitioner and Birth Doula. Did I mention that I'm also a flight attendant? I hope to incorporate my many different lives into this blog!
Welcome aboard!
